	Personal Statement
	Having been born into a Salvation Army home in Bexleyheath, Kent, Chris Newing has been a Salvationist all his life. In 1975 he became a member of the International Staff Band, until in 1982 he moved north to soldier at Leeds Central Corps. During his stay there he took up the position of Young Peoples Band Leader until in 1989 when he transferred to Leeds West Hunslet and subsequently his present position of Deputy Bandmaster, and just recently became leader of the Young Peoples Band in Leeds West Hunslet.

	Personal Statement
	Laurence is a lifelong member of Leeds West Hunslet Corps and has been a member of the junior and Senior Bands for the last 50 years. At the age of seventeen he was Assistant Young Peoples Band leader and at 22 was made Deputy Bandmaster, at the same time holding the position of Principle Solo Cornet. Presently in his 29th year, he is the Bands longest serving Bandmaster, and has always maintained a high standard of consistent and loyal service which is respected and admired by many people both inside and outside the Corps.

	Personal Statement
	Born in Halifax, Mike transferred with his family to Brighouse at a very early age. When he was seventeen he transferred to Bradford Great Horton, and served as a Bandsman and Songster there until he married in 1973 and moved to Leeds West Hunslet. Having served as Band Secretary and Band Librarian Mike has regularly carried the Band Colours since 1984. He also used to hold the position of Organising Secretary within the Corps and is proud of the fact that he is a Third Generation Salvationist.

	Dane was first introduced to Leeds West Hunslet by his grand parents who brought him along one Sunday afternoon. He took great interest especially with the YP band. A few weeks later he started going to YP Band Practice having already been taught how to play the Euphonium by his Granddad. After a couple of weeks Dane became a junior soldier of Leeds West Hunslet and joined the YP band. When Dane was old enough he started coming to Senior Band Practice which he also took great interest in. In 2005 Dane became a Senior Soldier and also joined the Senior Band, he has been playing in the Band ever since.

	Brought to the Army at three years of age, Malcolm grew up in the Leeds West Hunslet corps which was known then as Leeds III. He held positions of Singing Company Leader, Deputy Songster Leader and eventually Corps Sergeant Major before his work took him to Scotland where he soldiered at Hamilton Temple Corps. He was privileged to hold the position of Band Sergeant at Hamilton for 5 years before moving back to Leeds and transferring to Leeds West Hunslet. Besides holding the position of Band Sergeant, Malcolm is Recruiting Sergeant at Leeds West Hunslet.
